The Supreme Court said Thursday that Congress would have to authorize any further extensions of the federal eviction moratorium, blocking the Biden Administration’s August 3 attempt to roll out an extension of the ban that had expired July 31. The original moratorium protecting tenants and the attempted extension were related to the Covid-19 pandemic. The White House said it was disappointed by the ruling.
