“It’s. Not. Real.”

One of the writers of the 2007 film I Am Legend has spoken out about fake claims that Covid vaccines would turn people into zombies.

The movie, starring Will Smith, is about a failed attempt to genetically re-engineer measles to cure cancer, killing 99% of the world’s population – but with survivors turning into vampiric creatures.

Claims that something similar could happen to people getting Covid jabs have been circulating on social media, and there’s been reports that people have mentioned the film when talking about their concerns.

Akiva Goldsman, who co-wrote the screenplay based on a 1954 novel of the same name, tweeted: “Oh. My. God. It’s a movie. I made that up. It’s. Not. Real.”
