Dozens of artworks once stolen from Jewish collectors by the Nazis in the 1930s and ’40s will be exhibited in Manhattan’s Jewish Museum starting on Friday. The Nazis are known to have looted hundreds of thousands of pieces, including works by European greats Pablo Picasso, Camille Pissarro and Paul Cézanne. Some were returned to their original owners or their descendants, and many remain missing or are the subject of ongoing legal battles.
