Burryman’s Day has been celebrated for centuries around the Scottish town of South Queensferry.

The quirky tradition features a man covered in thousands of seeds to bring good luck.

Andrew Taylor was hidden under hundreds of seedheads from burdock plants that grow locally for the Burryman’s Day celebration throughout the town.

Residents and curious onlookers guide him along the streets for nine hours or more – and offering him plenty of nips of whisky through straws along the way.
